Return of the Western Blue Devil!

April 27, 2020: It's the Western Blue Devil swimming into Dreamyfish Art again!

Pencil portrait: Western Blue Devil, Paraplesiops sinclairi (Hutchins 1987) from the environs of Western Australia's southwestern waters and depicted here within his (her?!) favorite 'dream scenario' by Jude Cowell, an artful blend of Saturn (realism) + Neptune (visionary) which I count as a symbolic nod to my Sun Capricorn-Moon Pisces personality combination!

So nod your noggin, dear reader, if you know what I mean!!

And as always, you're cordially invited to visit Jude Cowell Astrology if and as you wish!

Is Deepwater Horizon Oil Leaking Again? 9.1.11

Sliding Down a Slicky Memory Lane (a BP-Gulf Blowout Deja-vu)

by Jude Cowell

Is the belatedly capped Deepwater Horizon well in the Gulf of Mexico leaking oil? A photo from 2010 indicates this may be so, I'm very sad to tell you.

Remember that happy day when I posted that the 'BP cap is stopping leak' circa July 15, 2010?

The headline then was that no more oil is leaking from the Deepwater Horizon well. Yes, Neptune is deeply involved in the whole BP oil fiasco and its cover-up since in Astrology nebulous Neptune rules oceans, oil, gas, leaks, fraud, deception, veils, illusions, delusions, cover-ups, dispersants and chemicals, poisons, drugs, smothering, and lies.

In a word? BP.

Now it's September 2011 and Scotland's North Sea has recently been breached by an oil leak with environmentalists demanding more answers from Royal Dutch Shell than they've received so far.

As you know, the propaganda going round is that Corporations Are People, Too--until the bagpiper is ready to be paid. Then they skip out on the bill and leave government (we-the-people) with as much of their tab as they can get away with.

Well, the little Red-banded wrasse you see below doesn't seem much impressed with 'royalty' acting badly no matter which flag they fly. He hints that human personages who can't get enough power and wealth need to get wise to their bad selves, back off, and take responsibility for their activities like all Oil Can Harrys end up doing if they criminalize society long enough--creeping about oppressing people and having their misguided way.

Okay, I'll hush about it. For now. And turn you over to Mr. Red-banded in a close-up from his Dreamyfish Art portrait, a botanical pencil rendering by yours truly but within his own imaginary scenario as a colorful backdrop in which to float about in his fondest dreams!

Mysterious dead birds and fish now a global phenomenon

Now it's fish, crabs and other animals turning up mysteriously dead in various places across the planet.

So far, the comments of scientists that I've heard or read on the topic are sounding disingenuously stupid as they make ridiculous excuses for what has quickly become a global phenomenon. And it may be closer to the truth to read the dead bird catastrophe in tandem with another sad case uncovered in the dim light of the December 21, 2010 Lunar Eclipse at a crisis degree (29Gem): the murder of biological weapons expert John P. Wheeler, a former (or current?) Pentagon analyst who was not in favor of the US using biological weapons.

The Bush-Cheney-Obama wars in Iraq and Afghanistan may be implicated as well, so don't follow either of the links in this post if you're not serious about facing the possibilities you may discover concerning the US government.

(If you click, be aware that some Astrology is involved but not to fret, my posts are always written in English. Besides, you'll find interesting links to click upon, too.)

Do you think it odd that this week's season premiere of V came on TV with a mysterious 'red sky' frightening the earthlings and now dead birds are mysteriously falling from the sky and millions of dead fish are washing ashore?

Well, unfortunately the word of the week, month, or year may turn out to be: phosgene.

Early marine biologist Rachel Carson

Her scientific work spurring President John F. Kennedy to create the EPA, pioneer environmentalist and marine biologist Rachel Carson was born May 27, 1907.

Even if you don't speak any astrologese at all, check out my post written in 2007 for the 100th anniversary of Carson's birth - and you'll find a link to radio's Living On Earth 's feature upon her for the anniversary, plus some personality details based on her natal chart's planets, and some links to her still-popular books including ecology's clarion call: Silent Spring.

Pisces: Two Fishes

An Art representation for you of the two fishes of the zodiac. One fish swims upward, one down, for Pisces may go in either direction and often feels trapped between two worlds.

Yet most real-life fish do not choose to swim downstream although it's the easiest and most dangerous way to go. Fish need dynamic stability created by swimming against the current even though they may make no apparent forward progress. Which world, which way? is the question for those born under the sign of the two fishes.

And you don't have to have your Sun in Pisces (Feb 19--Mar 20) to be Piscean for other planets in the oceanic sign will qualify you for Pisceanhood, such as Moon, or having a stellium (3+) planets there.

Pisces is the twelfth and final sign of the zodiac, the end of the cycle of worldly experience and it contains all the other signs within it. It is the sign of sacrificial service, infinite compassion, and vicarious suffering, and is traditionally connected to the advent of the Messiah.

Otherwordly, spiritual Neptune, ruler of the seas, is associated with Pisces but the sign's traditional ruler is Jupiter, associated with philosophy and codified religion. (Being a Saturnian astrologer, I only use traditional planets as rulers of signs. The outer planets--Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are higher frequency, transpersonal planets. That's just the way I roll.)

In fact, many Pisceans live within the sound, if not the sight, of a body of water.

Pisces is the most inspirational and psychic of all the signs (I know--my natal Moon is there!) and as such it represents the meeting place of matter and spirit upon the plane of emotionality.

In Astrology, the Tertiary Progressions (based on the movements of the Moon and beginning with the birth chart) give us information on this emotional/intuitional plane and describes the much-touted mind-body connection we all must navigate in life. Blended with natal Moon information, it's a lot to consider yet most people agree that emotions influence health.

Is imagination more real than reality? Then you've just met a dreamy Pisces!

People of the artful Pisces persuasion can be exasperating, downright perverse, contradictory and vague...but can also be the soul of kindness.

So you may wish to get to know a Pisces today--even if you're one yourself!
