Fishy Visitor from Carnac Island
You have a visitor from Carnac Island, one you've met before. It's Mr. Slender weed whiting enquiring, "How cool are the waters off Western Australia?"
For as you may know, Carnac Island is home of the Tiger Snakes, eek!

Knightfish, the pencil portrait
At last! I've managed to render a fresh new Dreamyfish image and it looks as if he's a Knightfish, Cleidopus gloriamaris De Vis swum over from Houtman Albrohos of Western Australia...and here you spy him ensnared within his favorite, rather colorful, dream.
Or, more to the point perhaps you, dear viewer, are merely a figment of a fragment of Sir Knightfish's fondest dream...?
Well, are your socks damp? That'd be your clue.
Actual size of drawing: 11 1/2" X 11 1/2" unmatted, mailed flat; original available $90US; contact Jude for more details at: jude dot cowell at hotmail dot com. Thanks!
~~:~~ and please! respect artist's copyright; and if you'd like to see this image in my Lulu Storefront for your inexpensive Downloading to a spiffy poster as you will, you may wish to navigate your fins over to Lulu for more images of artwork.
In my Lulu Storefront I've tried to include such themes as: Children's, Botanical, Cosmic and Moon Art, Figure Studies, Chiffonery Art (for 17+ers.)
Elsewhere online you may run across Paper Collages perpetrated by yours truly with everything from ancient sculptures to zebras' backends making cameo appearances. And what would a collection of collages be without meerkats showing up?
So you are cordially invited to drop by if and when ya can, and leave a shout-out note there (or here) if you may.
Lulu Storefront note: Breaksea cod is now available as an Art Print as well as for Download. You may find that Breaksea is a handsome fellow so why not check out his snoot shot today!?

Goldie tropidelii (Cowell)
Seldom if ever do I 'make up' a fish while drawing but this newly-perpetrated image Goldie tropidelii (Cowell) has made a mockery of my former habit and a sassy little rendering to boot.
Do Drop In to view a smidge of Art at my Cosmic Persona Designs Storefront at Lulu if you like--there's some Downloading Art Goodness to be found there!

US Fish & Wildlife Service's gag order
Imagine, the Fish and Wildlife Service, the very people charged with watching over the animals here in the U.S., writing a gag order for scientists on their staff. That's exactly what happened in late February, when Craig Perham and Janet E. Hohn received travel approval from their superiors with a big catch - don't talk about global warming or how it's affecting animal populations, especially polar bears.
Unfortunately, the Bush Administration continues to cover up the facts and cater to oil and coal companies. But it's time that it stopped.
Remove the gag orders, let the truth flow about global warming so that we can pass the Safe Climate Act and make real progress while we still have time.
Click on the link below or copy and paste it into your web browser to email the Fish and Wildlife Service, and ask them to stop censoring scientists. We need more discussion about global warming, not less.

Then, ask your friends and family to help by forwarding this post on to them.#
Save the Oceans!
And here's a new blog I found...an aquarium fish video blog Inside Aquarium which fairly rocks with product info and aquarium-related resources to help you keep your fish fit as fiddles!

Breaksea cod
Welcome to Dreamyfish Art by Jude Cowell!
Here you see a tropical fish from Geographe Bay, Western Australia. His full name is Epinephelidea armatus, but he answers to Breaksea cod.
A lifelong artist who happens to be fond of tropical fish, I have combined here the Saturnian realism of Capricorn - whose oldest archetypal symbol is the mer-goat - with the visionary qualities of Neptune's Pisces to create dreamlike scenarios for...Dreamyfish.
Fish are drawn as botanically correct as I can make them, but the backgrounds are figments of someone's imagination.
Saturn realism + Neptune dreaminess = Dreamyfish! Because fish dream, too...
Now Neptune's realm is the sea, of course, and if you know anything about Astrology at all, you are familiar with the two fishes of Pisces...one swimming upwards and one swimming down. These Dreamyfish are at their best within their dreams - kind of like a lot of people I know!
Putting Neptunian symbols or images (Neptune's realm includes film, illusions, dreams, veils and masks, among other things) into Saturnian form seems a likely project for a Sun Capricorn/Moon Pisces like yours truly, and I hope you'll visit this gallery often for here you may have a sneak peek into their most favorite dreams...and with no one the wiser!
Some cool fishy links will be added as time permits, and your comments and queries are most welcome.
Thanks for visiting,
-Jude Cowell Dec 19 2005 7:40 pm, actually
